“Ko Murobushi”
Hiroko Komatsu
ABOUT
Five years before his sudden death in 2015, Ko Murobushi, who studied under the founder Tatsumi Hijikata and spread Butoh around the world as "Butoh," held a 60-hour workshop in South America with 40 participants, including teachers, curators, and painters. The methods and contemplations that brought about the unparalleled movement have not lost their luster even after his body left the earth. This is a record of an expressive artist who straddled artistic forms and borders, and attempted to go beyond all boundaries.
